Simone Biles Shuts Down Those Asking Her To Get A Divorce

“Don’t Come for My Family”: Simone Biles Shuts Down ‘Divorce’ Demands With Jonathan Owens

“Are you all done yet?” This is how Simone Biles responded to fan backlash over her husband Jonathan Owens’s comments on the Pivot podcast at the tail end of 2023. 28-year-old NFL safety Owens unwittingly sparked a maelstrom with his “I always say that the men are the catch” and admitting that “I didn’t know who she was at the time” about Biles.

The NFL player’s remarks, which he and his renowned wife made public on the podcast “The Pivot,” sent hordes of Simone Biles supporters into dismay. For his remarks, Owens received backlash on social media. Some even called him a warning sign and advised Biles to break off her relationship with her adored spouse. However, Biles has once again stated that her spouse comes first for her, just as she did in the past.

“Really hurt,” Simone Biles addresses fan backlash on Jonathan Owens

During her appearance as a celebrity guest on Alex Cooper’s popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” Simone Biles opened up about intimate details of her life. An important moment came when Cooper asked about the controversy that started in December 2023 about Jonathan’s “catch” comment and his claim that he didn’t know Biles when they first started dating.

Biles emphasized that “there was nothing foul about it” as she related her experience in the “The Pivot” podcast interview. In response to a question concerning her first thoughts on the drama, Biles laughed at the overly dramatic answers, which included advice for her to divorce Jonathan. He also mentioned that he found the word “divorce” offensive.

Biles said, “I thought it was hilarious at first, and then they hurt my feelings. And then one night, I broke down and I’m like: ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? Like, you don’t know him. You don’t know who he is. And if anybody’s met him, they know he’s the sweetest guy and will do anything for anybody.”

She admitted that the situation eventually became hurtful because of comments about her husband. She said, “And so that really hurt that they were talking about my husband like that. Because for me it’s like, talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family. Never. Yeah. Like, because I’ve been in the limelight long enough where I can brush things off, have my little powwow about it. You’re not gonna know. I cried about it, but I’d be crying about some stuff, you know? But I’m also, I only cry about it because I can’t clap back. Just know that.”

In addition, Simone Biles shared her thoughts on the interview and the reasons behind her belief that it caused a rift in society. She admitted that she was present for the interview, but she also said that “it was all for him,” which may have infuriated the fans. Thus, I believe they were upset that he left me out of the interview. However, I give him the space and time he needs to have his moments.

Curiously, Biles, who was present with Owens during the December podcast, stated, “You know what, in a couple of years, nobody is going to call him Simone Biles’ husband.” They’ll refer to me as Jonathan Owens’ spouse. She has already defended her spouse in remarks that she made. Following the backlash on Owens for his comments, Biles took to social media to shut down the critics.

Following criticism on the internet, Biles came out in favor of her spouse.

When Simone Biles posted a picture of a perplexed toddler on X back in December, she made it clear that she was also frustrated. She said, “Are y’all done yet?”

In response to the criticism he received, Owens also shared pictures from their wedding on Instagram with the message, “Unbothered,

“Just know we locked in over here.”

In an additional response to the post, Biles wrote “for life” to allay any suspicions that the pair was having a falling out. From the moment they first met, Biles and Owens have been together. Earlier in the year, following the Green Bay Packers’ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Biles shared an emotional picture on Instagram.

“Love supporting you & your dreams,” she wrote with pictures of the couple from the Packers’ season-ending game on social media. After meeting in 2020 on the dating app Raya, where Biles famously initiated contact, the couple wed in April 2023.
