Actress Funke Akindele has come under fire from the late brother of Jumoke Aderounmu’s public criticism for her fake expression of sorrow.

Tragically, Jumoke, an upcoming movie star, died a few hours earlier. After one of Jumoke’s relatives corroborated what filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi had revealed this sad news, the word quickly spread.

Funke Akindele, who cast Jumoke in her hit TV show “Jenifa’s Diary” in the past, posted condolences and expressed her anguish on her Instagram story.

Jumoke’s brother, however, took exception with Funke’s conduct and called her public display of mourning “eye service,” accusing her of hypocrisy.

In a Yoruba-language, he wrote: “Aye & camera. To ba ri won kosa,” which translates to “All for show and cameras; where were you when she was alive?” .

He went on to say that Jumoke had made multiple attempts to get in touch with Funke, including sending Paschaline Alex, another one of Funke Akindele’s proteges, to her. Funke did not answer Jumoke’s calls prior to her sad demise, despite her best efforts.

The brother questioned why Funke is now showing fake love when it’s too late. He also gave credit to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga for their genuine support during this difficult time.

“You wey dey call tire, wey no turn-up. She even sent Pascal to you, you still no reach out!
Why the eye service now wetin she don kpai?
Omo! Shout-out to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga “ he wrote.

Late Jumoke had earlier opened up on how her stature became a big challenge for her acting career.
