J. Cole has released a surprise 12-track album ahead of Dreamville Fest 2024 in honor of the historic two-day event. When word spread that “7 Minute Drill” was a direct reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s diss on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” folks flocked to it right away. The latter portion of the project includes a number of features, including Ari Lennox, Bas, Central Cee, Daylyt, Ab-Soul, Cam’ron, and Young Dro, in addition to elite bars.

“7 Minute Drill” features a few allusions to JAY-Z’s Nas Diss, “Takeover.” Aiming at Lamar, Cole raps, “He averagin’ one hard verse like every 30 months or somethin’/ If he wasn’t dissin’, then we wouldn’t be discussin’ him/ Lord, don’t make me have to smoke this n**ga ’cause I f**k with him.” The “Power Trip” emcee is in peak form throughout the album. This project is a clear indication that his goal is to claim the number one spot.

Bryson Tiller by Bryson Tiller

Following a brief hiatus since his last album, ANNIVERSARY, Bryson Tiller is back with an exciting self-titled LP. The 19-track AI/algorithm-inspired project perfectly captures the versatility and songwriting ability that has made the RIAA Diamond-certified crooner a mainstay in the R&B space. Songs like “Persuasion” featuring Victoria Monét and “Calypso” are sure to be on repeat as the weather warms, and his hit single “Whatever She Wants” is still moving on radio and TikTok alike.

Despite his struggles with imposter syndrome, Tiller persevered to produce an album that has garnered praise from R&B fans and industry journalists alike. His brilliant roll-out plan included #TillerTuesdays, a method that let his most devoted followers check out a fresh release only once a week on the same SoundCloud page that initially made them fall in love with him back in 2015.

GloRilla has released her sophomore album, Ehhthang Ehhthang, following the announcement of her stadium tour alongside Megan Thee Stallion. For some time now, the CMG signee has been hinting at the upcoming project. Her new 12-song LP was well-received after the success of her most recent single, “Yeah Glo!” Moneybagg Yo, Kevo Muney, Boston Richie, Megan Thee Stallion, and Finesse2Tymes are all involved in the project.

GloRilla name-dropped Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and City Girls’ JT on “Aite.” On the new track, she raps, “I just pray one day the bad b**ches would come together/ ‘Cause Cardi and Nicki on a track would break some f**king records/ Me and JT ain’t the best of friends, but we ain’t beefing.”

“After Hours” by Kehlani

Kehlani shines on her newest single, “After Hours.” Sampling Nina Sky’s famous track, “Move Ya Body,” the Oakland-bred songstress created a new rendition of the bop perfect for the warm weather season. Her silky smooth tone and infectious lyrics instantly capture listeners’ attention whether riding in the car on the way to a party or getting active in the gym. “After Hours” is a must-add to any upbeat playlist.

Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1 by Pharrell

Renowned producer, musician, and creative Pharrell has released a new album that defies genres and isn’t available on streaming services, which is the most unexpected release of the week. Along with some of his other loves, the project includes a dedication to his native Virginia. Songs like “Richard Mille,” “Caged Bird Free,” “11:11,” and “Going Back to VA” are among the track titles. Check out the brand-new 10-track album only on BlackYachtRock.

“Bless” by Lil Wayne feat. Young Thug

Wheezy produced Lil Wayne and Young Thug’s latest song, “Bless,” which is a great song. This amazing collaboration between Wheezy and Weezy is long overdue, especially after Wheezy joked on his Apple Music Radio program that he thought Future was yelling him out when he saw the renowned producer tag, “WheezyOuttaHere.” Additionally, the song offered listeners a sneak peek into the Weezy vs. Wheezy mixtape. Wayne most recently announced the new song during a special performance with Jey Uso on “WWE Monday Night RAW” this past week.
